mee too error during login server error 911

Changed 4 months ago by anon

I just got that error when logging in now. Maybe M$ has done something to their servers? I am on Emesene 1.0.1.

I suppose yes, i've entered with my hotmail sister account and login no problem.. craps!

Changed 4 months ago by anon

I now get "login error ;_; Server error 601" I tried logging in on pidgin and I couldn't so it must be something to do with the Microsoft servers rather than Emesene, so I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Me too, I registered a new Windows Live ID then try to login to Live Messenger by emenese, it's OK without any errors. :-(

I am now getting this error.. 911 using both Gmail and Hotmail accounts.

I am unable to login Pidgen either, so I believe it is the MSN server..

Changed 4 months ago by hiroshi

Sorry for my poor English.

I'm curious when I tracing debugging messages of emenese. I don't know MSNP so much, but I found in the "USR 4 TWN S" stage emenese send the different length authentication string, also, in error 911 way, the t= & p= value were also not terminated well by $ sign.

Dear all:

I've tried to "shorten & simpler" my password, wow! then I can login now.

Dear all: I've tried to "shorten & simpler" my password, wow! then I can login now.

That did the trick for me too. Seems to be a password issue..

My password was "strong security", I had to chose one simpler to be able to login. I changed it back though after I logged in. Juste hope I won't be disconnected until this problem is solved or I'll have to do it all over again.

Note that it worked with other IM clients (amsn, pidgin etc..), so is it something with emesene in particular ? Don't know for sure..

Hi, thanks! your method works! my original password contains some special characters. after removing the special characters, i can login now!

Picking an easier password worked for me on emesene 1.0.1

I change my password for a shorter, without special chars and it works

Cambié mi contraseña por una sin caracteres especiales y pude loguearme. Hay que corregir esto.

I changed my password by one without special characters and I was able to log. We must correct this.

Hi. I have the same problem with Emesene...with Windows Live Messenger and Pidgin everything works fine. My password contains letters, numbers and even special characters. Thank you and sorry for my bad english. :)

Changed 4 months ago by anonymous

I had to change my password (which contained no special characters, only a-z A-Z 0-9, and was 13 characters long) to a shorter/simpler one (a-z A-Z, 7 chars long) and it works. This happened to me in 1.0 SVN and 1.0.0.

Same problem in Italy. But...it's a very little bug, an MSN client that it doens't connect is very useful anyway, isn't it? It's more than a week that there is this bug...wouldn't be time to solve it?

same issues here, can't login on the 1.0 or 1.0.1 version. Running Hardy.

  • priority changed from normal to critical
  • component changed from other to emesenelib
  • milestone changed from 1.1 to 1.0.2

This problem is important: no one using a passport account can log in.

Changed 4 months ago by B.

This problem has been going on for two days on 1.0 & 1.0.1. It was working well before that.

Changed 4 months ago by Semih Gokalp

Interesting ! How can it suddenly doesnt work while it was working well before.I was using without any error 3-4 days ago but now I can not.

It works when i changed my password to simply and not strong. But I dont want to change my strong password. I hope,Devolopers will be fixed this bug.

The aMSN developers solved this question updating to MSNP15 (at least the authentication mecanism). It's based on Single Sign-On: http://msnpiki.msnfanatic.com/index.php/MSNP15:SSO

Changed 4 months ago by Shang Wu

The work around is to change to weak password for now. It worked .......... Hope this bug will be fixed ASAP like the name ......error 911 ....

I've changed the password to an easier one; now I can login but my buddies list/my nickname/my personal message doesn't show up... When I try to change my nickname emesene says: "Il nick non può essere cambiato [nick cannot be changed, in Italian..]: Invalid Application Header Application ID is either not defined in database or blocked from access."

I can login and everything works under kopete.

Nope, I have the same error in amd64 too. The thing is with passwords. I don't want to change my password in order to make it work with emesene.

yep... i just noticed it... my bad... i was trying to find more clues... ;)

sorry for my poor English, i'm French Quebecois,

I don't want to change my password either... :D

have a nice day :)

in reply to: ↑ 38   Changed 4 months ago by anonymous

Ops, looks like it fixed "magically" for me. Now it works, and without upgrading nor changing the password. M$ guys are playing with their servers, thats the only explanation, I think.

Does not work for me. I'm using Hardy Heron. Emesene 1.0.1. Changing gmail password to fair strength and shortest possible allowed. Then logged in. Same error. However, logging in with my hotmail account works fine.

This is a change done by Microsoft to ensure non Microsoft clients either can't login or can't use certain features.

Until emesene is able to overcome the changes, I'll be forced to use Windows and Live Messengers as it's required for my work.

It's a shame. I had finally found emesene and it worked for weeks until this happened. I hate having to go back to Windows.
